2014 End of Year TT and Awards

In a break from tradition, the club ended the year with a TT race instead of the usual club league road race. Riders went off in pairs and had the option of competing for the fastest overall time or guessing their time in advance and ride the course with no computers.

Alice and Harry Sherratt were on hand to kept track of times on the day and watch out for any tactical riding from the time guessers, as if anyone would try that!?

The best overall time was produced by “The Dream Team”, Paul Dolan & Sean Bracken. (They were too quick for the photographer as well) followed in second place by the pairing of Alan Mullens & one of our new members, Luis Alfonso Marquez.

Alan Clarke was presented with the “Club Champion” award for 2014, pictured here with his son Luke. After a 20 year dip in form, Alan seems to have turned a corner and we have high hopes for him next year.

Aidan Whelan was presented with the award for highest placed rider in Club League, proving to be the most consistent rider all summer.

Finally, the 2014 Club Member of the Year went to a very worthy winner, Joe Hollingsworth. Joe has been a member for only a couple of years but has had a hugely positive impact on the club in that time. Among other things, he was responsible for our new club kit, has brought new riders into the club and has organised groups and spins throughout the year. Thanks and well done Joe!
